I'm really itching on posting this right now. This one was given to me yesterday by my mom and my sister as a birthday gift. I never expected them to do that, but I think they have read my mind.Well, it also comes with The Stig figurine in the package and also the lap time it set at the Top Gear Test track (1:23.0) which adds to the beauty of this car.
In its 1:1 form, the car is powered by a 5980cc, twin-turbo M275 V12 generating 670 HP and 1000 Nm of torque. The reason for this abominable power is that the turbos are 12% bigger. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic gearbox (the 7-speed unit can't handle this car's impressive torque figure) Of course, it would be foolish to just improve the power right? So the good people at AMG fitted this car with a fully adjustable suspension. Weight is also reduced by ditching the electric hardtop folding roof and replaced it with the fixed carbon fiber roof. With that, an electric spoiler that rises when the car travels at 100 km/h was added due to that modification. Despite all these weight savings, the car still weighs at over 1800 kilograms. The exterior styling is not just for show, it's there for better cooling of the engine and much better aerodynamics. All of these modifications translate to 0-100 km/h of 3.8 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 320 km/h.
Sadly, this car is a rare sight on the road. Just 350 of them were built and all were sold. The Black Series name in the AMG stable intends to be a track day vehicle. Hence, this is not your common garden-variety, luxurious GT cruiser. It's meant to be hard and focused on the track.
